Ready to Weld and a Charity Race

Back to a Bare Chassis

Over the past week the team have been hard at work taking all the components off of the 2019 car so that we are back to just a bare chassis. This is a necessary step in getting the car ready to race in the summer as it allows us to see what may need replacing on the car as well as what has worked well. A list of what needs doing over the coming months is underway to give us a focus on what must be done as a priority. Once these jobs are done, we can begin to move on to tasks that will improve the car to ensure the highest possible finish for the team.

With all components off of the chassis, some of the modifications we are looking to make can begin to be carried out. This includes welding on new wing mounts and relocating some of the tabs to more suitable positions to work with the 2021 power loom. SHU Racing hope that these changes will ensure an even better finish for this car than was achieved in 2019 when the team finished 21st out of 81 teams.
